Homeowner Spotlight: Meet the Trinhs

Duke and Chelsea Trinh moved from West Virginia to the Nashville area less than one month before they had their first child. The couple decided to relocate because the timing was just right – they wanted to be closer to family, and Duke secured a new job opportunity.

The Trinhs found a quick move-in home that was perfect for their growing family. (A quick move-in home, also known as “a market home,” is designed and started without a specific buyer in mind. This allows buyers to purchase a brand new home without the typical new construction timeline. They can commit to a new home later down the line and expedite the home building experience.)

The couple’s floor plan, the Wilshire, provides space for the practical and the fun! With an open concept, five bedrooms and sky-high ceilings, their home has enough flex space that they can use the gameroom as a playroom, and the main living area for entertainment.

What initially attracted you to the floor plan?

We were initially attracted to the Wilshire floor plan because it had five bedrooms, which was exactly what we were looking for. We loved the open concept design in the heart of the home and the open-to-above ceiling in the family room. The soaring ceiling is very impressive and makes the space feel even larger!

Now that you have moved in, what have been your favorite spaces and features?

Now that we have settled in our home, our favorite parts are definitely the large laundry room with tons of room for storage and the open concept kitchen/dining/family room. We love hosting our family and friends in these areas. We also love the upstairs loft area, which we use as a playroom.

What did you enjoy most about buying a brand new home?

It was so exciting to get updates every week as our home was being built! Coming to visit from out of town to see the progress in person was something that we always looked forward to. We were expecting our first child less than a month after closing on our home, so preparing to move and having a baby at the same time was an exciting time. Watching our baby grow up here and filling our new home with memories has been our favorite part!

What advice would you give others who are interested in a brand new home?

I would recommend doing a lot of research beforehand! Research various builders, floor plans, etc. Come up with a list of questions that you have. Also, come up with a list of non-negotiables that you want your new home to have and decide what you can live without.

Why did you choose Drees?

We had heard great things about Drees Homes from several of our friends in the area. Our Realtor also spoke highly of Drees. Overall, we were very happy with the process from start to finish!
