It turned out to be a very successful night for Drees’ Washington D.C. team at the recent Black and White Virtual GALA, held by the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association on February 18th, 2021. The GALA, better known as the Great American Living Awards, is a yearly event that honors the building industry’s best and brightest. This year’s virtual ceremony saw two Drees model homes take home awards for exceptional design and architecture. A Drees Market Manager was also honored for her outstanding performance in 2020. Let’s take a deeper look at the winners and why the NVBIA chose to recognize each with prestigious awards.
Design and Architecture Winners
THE ROWAN AT VIRGINIA CROSSING
Winner of Detached Home ($700,000 – $850,000)
Truly an awe-inspiring sight from the curb, the Rowan at Virginia Crossing in Haymarket, Virginia took one of Drees’ most popular D.C. floor plans and raised the bar even higher. With incredible, must-see features such as a bright and airy open living area on the main level and a luxuriously private owner’s suite on the second level, the Rowan checks all the boxes of every resident’s needs. Upgraded ceiling features, a wraparound front porch, a kitchen with an island and tons of storage space add to this incredible plan’s highlight reel.
And the best part? This one-of-a-kind model is currently for sale! For more info on how to own this award-winning beauty, contact Julie Schall, your Washington D.C. New Home Specialist.

At over 5,700 square feet and on a multi-acre lot, you may need a whole day to fully tour the Great Falls model at Sudley Farm in Centreville, Virginia! With two luxurious levels and a finished lower level, incredible living spaces can be found at each turn. Each intricate detail was put into account on the Great Falls, from the family ready room with ample storage and a dog washing station to a kitchen with two, yes, two islands. Additional home highlights include a main-level sunroom, jaw-dropping owner’s suite bath and finished lower recreation room.
Outstanding Sales Person Winner
Now working in the exciting new community of Potomac Shores in Dumfries, Virginia, Brooke Adams spent a successful 2020 in Fredericksburg, Virginia selling our luxury townhome product at New Post on the Rappahannock. A member of the Drees team since 2014, Brooke excelled in her role at New Post while catching the attention of the NVBIA in the process. Brooke is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where she received a degree in Marketing, but notes she loves being a Market Manager because she enjoys meeting new people and helping them in their new home journey. We are truly lucky to have Brooke as a member of the Drees team!
We would like to thank the NVBIA for their continued partnership with Drees and the opportunity to receive these thoughtful accolades.
