DreeSmart: How Investing Your Future in Drees Goes Above & Beyond Building a Home

Now that any lingering glow of holiday warmth has most likely faded, many of us find ourselves faced with the harsh reality of a long, dreary winter ahead. What makes for an even longer winter gloom? A dreary, DRAFTY next few months. Many homeowners find themselves in a rather uncomfortable situation this time of year when the depths of winter’s chill can’t be shaken, even in the comfort of their own homes. Some may be noticing their drafty abode for the first time, or in a whole new way during this pandemic, homebound season.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, however, and we’re not talking about Spring. Drees Homes is poised and ready to put your future chilly woes to bed through our DreeSmart innovations and HERS Testing. With our cutting-edge, two-pronged, DreeSmart approach, every aspect of your home is designed with energy efficiency top of mind.

When you build a new Drees home, it comes equipped with innovative technology that supports you from the very beginning, while still keeping a pulse on the future. Probably more than ever before, WiFi is a hot commodity in the home. Now that people are spending more time at home for work, school and recreation, having a strong WiFi connection in every corner of the home and the bandwidth to support multiple users at a time is crucial.

Drees floor plans are ahead of the curve, already engineered to eliminate WiFi dead spots and wired with state-of-the-art CAT6/RG6 cabling to support those bandwidth-hogging streaming services. This attention to detail sets your family up for success, whether that means maintaining connection during an important Zoom meeting or your child winning their fourth consecutive game of Fortnite without bandwidth hindrance. Drees helps you, and your family, live smart — whatever that may look like.

Drees Technology opens the door to a multitude of additional benefits. At the touch of a button on a user-friendly, single app, manage the security system, WiFi, smart garage door, smart thermostat, smart lock, video doorbell, smart lighting and more. Via the home automation hub, you’ll unlock the door to endless Drees enhanced smart living options and have the smart-home world at your fingertips!

2. DreeSmart Energy

The second component to the Drees approach is what we call DreeSmart Energy. This is a whole-house integrated system that combines energy-saving innovations with rigorous third-party inspections. It starts from the ground up with our building materials. By sourcing the highest quality and most durable materials on the market, Drees secures an energy advantage from the start. We then build upon that strong, steadfast foundation by executing the insulation process with exquisite precision and attention to detail, installing Low-E windows and fresh air exhaust systems. Translation? Indoor air will stay cooler in the summer and cozier in the winter. This isn’t just a PSA for our northern friends who are bundled up for a while. Before we know it, summer is going to be here in all of its humid glory. DreeSmart Energy is not only applicable nation-wide, but a big selling point in Texas and Florida in the summer and all our northern cities in the winter.

Homes are scored on a Home Energy Rating System (HERS), a nationally-recognized system developed by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET). Drees does HERS testing on all our homes and has a standard that they must meet. Every buyer gets a certificate with their home’s HERS score to prove its assessment and that the home meets, or often surpasses, the standard. Each one-point decrease in the HERS score corresponds to a 1% reduction in energy consumption, meaning that the lower the score the lower energy cost, or the more efficient the home.

Let’s get to the bottom line and talk about numbers that really matter, dollars. Drees homes score significantly better than other existing homes, resulting in big savings for homeowners. On average, Drees homeowners could save up to $4,923 annually on their utility bills.
