At Drees, we know that the kitchen has always been the heart of the home. It’s where everyone loves to come together to enjoy meals, share stories and hang out. Sara styled the heart of this home in Carmel, IN and walked us through her favorite features to incorporate when designing a kitchen.

First and foremost, Sara explains that her top must-have is the kitchen island. The bigger, the better — perfect for meal prep, a buffet setup and even homework time.

Other favorite conveniences that make everyday life easier include a double oven to help with on-time meal readiness and baking in bulk, a working pantry for extra storage and out-of-sight surface space, and a walk-in pantry for storing staples behind closed doors.

Additional kitchen features Sara highlights include double-stacked cabinetry that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also provides hardworking storage as well as an open-concept layout that flows freely into the home’s other gathering spaces.

About Sara Davis

From a young age, Sara knew she was created to create. She worked as an Art Director at a greeting card company and later as a stay-at-home mom. Needing a creative outlet and a little sanity from three young kids, she painted. The walls in her home became canvas and home décor her passion. In 2014, she began documenting her creative efforts at SincerelySaraD.com. You can follow along with her daily adventures on Instagram (@sincerelysarad).
