Episode 11: Holiday Entertainment at Its Finest

Hi there! Welcome to the “Ask Alexa” series. I’m Alexa Drees, the Design Center Director at Drees Homes, and I’m excited to bring you weekly tips, advice, and answers to your dilemmas to help make designing your dream home an easy and enjoyable process. Each week, I’ll be rolling out a new feature. (If you missed our first 10 videos, you can watch them here.)

We kicked off the month discussing the features that set the foundation for not only a beautiful holiday at home, but a meaningful one full of memories with family and friends. Then, last week, we talked about the beloved art of baking for the holidays as well as ideal setups for entertaining in the kitchen. Now, let’s get to the good stuff… specialty spaces designed for the ultimate in entertainment and enjoyment.

Entertain with Ease

It is not uncommon for homeowners to incorporate their favorite past time into their floor plan. Whether you have a wine room, bourbon bar, board game room or billiards in mind, you have several options to bring your vision to life and we are open to all of the possibilities you can dream up.

For example, one of our recent patio home models features quite the room for a wine lover (pictured above). The space has several built-in qualities that create ambience and set the tone for a special night your guests you are sure to remember. With it’s stone walls and built-in wine dispensers, there is so much to love about this room that creates the full-blown winery vibe.

Happy Hobby Spaces

Even if your hobby isn’t built around entertaining guests, we can still bring it to life in a big and meaningful way. Other common requests we receive are scrapping, craft, gift wrapping and sewing rooms. Believe it or not, we even have rooms built around your four-legged friends. You name it and we’ll do everything in our power to make it happen!

Next week, join us as we turn our focus on the dining room and its role in holiday traditions. For the first look at our new segments, be sure to follow along on Facebook. We look forward to having you join us on this journey of design explorations!

All the best,
Alexa Drees
