Not only did Fishers, Indiana make the list of Best Places to Live in America again, it took the top spot for the very first time. With promising opportunities for economic growth, and an abundance of boutiques, restaurants and entertainment as well as many other cultural festivities, there are numerous reasons why this city of 86,000 landed on top.
The journalists at MONEY stated:
“We chose to focus on towns with a population of 10,000 to 100,000, to avoid the biggest cities while shining a light on smaller towns and affordable suburbs. From that starting point, MONEY sifted through data at a granular level. We examined dozens of different variables that speak to the good life, including growing jobs, quality schools, cultural and recreational resources, and affordable homes. To help hone our search, MONEY teamed up with realtor.com to leverage its knowledge of housing markets throughout the country.”
Through their research, they evaluated eight categories:
- Cost of living
- The economy
- Education
- Housing
- Crime
- Convenience
- Cultural and recreational amenities
- Overall sense of pleasantness
Other cities that made the list of “Best Places to Live” include:
- Allen, Texas
- Monterey Park, California
- Franklin, Tennessee (We build there too!)
- Olive Branch, Mississippi
- Dickinson, North Dakota
- Lone Tree, Colorado
- North Arlington, New Jersey
- Schaumburg, Illinois
- Bozeman, Montana
