There are several steps to building your dream home and at Drees our goal is to make each step as easy as possible from choosing your floor plan to closing. We have a dedicated team to help you through every step of the way, and it shows in our customer satisfaction!
Building a new home is a time of excitement and anticipation. It can also feel stressful and overwhelming at times. At Drees, we understand this. That’s why we build homeowner checkpoints into our process to ensure that you are comfortable with each phase of the build. (And it also gives you opportunities to celebrate the progress along the way – because we know that’s important, too!)
From your first meeting with our Market Managers to design appointments, plan reviews, construction inspections, and Homeowner Orientation, our experienced professionals are there to answer questions.
It’s our goal to ensure that it all feels easy. Every customer journey is different, but one thing is certain, we have countless happy homeowners. Here are some insights from Bob, a homeowner who built his dream home in Mustang Lakes in Dallas. Bob has some great tips for those looking to build their very own home:
- What floor plan did you build? What made you choose that plan?
We picked the Auburn IV. It’s the perfect size for someone who has just retired. Not too big and not too small. Furthermore, this little jewel has everything and more than you find in a home twice its size. The energy efficiency that Drees provides was also a key factor in my decision.
- What was your favorite part about building your home?
Building a home is scary – no doubt about it. People say “Ask Questions” —HA!. The problem is that I didn’t know the options then I couldn’t ask the questions. And that’s where Todd Pressley came in. He helped me with the answers before I knew the questions and then he gave me the opportunity to make the right decision for my wife and me. A good example of this was giving up a small area in the garage for a larger pantry inside. My wife always wanted a walk-in pantry.
- What about your experience stood out to you the most?
The professionalism of my Marketing Manager, Design Manager, and of course my builder made for a truly wonderful experience. I mentioned to quite a few people that I never thought spending $330,000 would be this much fun. Due to the fact that we were updated weekly on the build, we were able to form an album starting with the sold sign in the dirt to our move in.
- What tip would you give to others about to build their dream home?
We picked Drees because of what they offered vs. other builders that we checked out. As previously mentioned, energy efficiency was one main factor as well as move-in incentives. In my opinion, it’s the builder (on-site) that can either make buying a new home a wonderful or terrible experience. If I was to do it again, I would interview my on-site builder. If I decide that I would like someone else to supervise my build and cannot be accommodated – then I look at another home builder. In our case with Drees, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect match!
