Drees Custom Homes kicked off 2016 with model homes now open in five communities. A Houston newcomer, Drees entered the market in 2014 as oil prices began to decline. Despite the slump, Drees has performed well.
“Oil prices made it easier for us to enter so many communities so quickly,” said Jay McManus, Houston division president for Drees Custom Homes. “Other builders were pulling back a little, so we were able to write contracts on good lot positions in locations such as Tomball, Spring and Rosenberg.”
Drees has capitalized on opportunities created by the hesitance of other builders, securing properties throughout the city and bringing a diverse collection of products to the market. The Drees model homes at Woodtrace, Harper’s Preserve, Retreat at Augusta Pines, Long Meadow Farms and Summer Lakes represent a broad portfolio ranging from the $260s to the $970s. Drees is now actively selling at Towne Lake.
Drees plans to continue growing in 2016, particularly looking for opportunities in the Katy and Cy-Fair areas.
