North Austin Community Going Green

Georgetown, Texas is going green with wind turbines. The Spinning Spur 3 wind farm, which became operational in late September, is now fulfilling almost all of the city’s day-to-day electricity needs. Georgetown has a 20-year contract with EDF Renewable Energy to supply power to the city. This partnership, along with a contract with SunEdision to receive energy from a solar farm in late 2016, is helping the city reach its goal of being 100 percent powered by renewable energy by 2017.

Drees Custom Homes is also committed to energy efficiency. We build with DreeSmart, our proprietary whole-house integrated system that combines energy-saving innovations with rigorous third-party inspections. Our Diamond Level partnership with Environments for Living provided guaranteed comfort and annual energy savings.
